The Auditor General of Kosovo hosted his counterpart from Poland in a bilateral meeting

Monday, the Auditor General of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Osmani, hosted the President of the Supreme Audit Institution of Poland, Marian Banaś, and his delegation in a bilateral meeting.

The counterparts discussed about the ways to continue bilateral cooperation through the exchange of knowledge and experiences aimed at further upgrading of external audit and improving public money management. They also talked about the difficulties and challenges, as well as the audit process in this time of pandemic.

The Auditor General, Besnik Osmani, expressed his acknowledgment to his Polish counterpart for the ongoing support provided to NAO in building professional capacities. Osmani said he was happy with the cooperation so far and committed to continue this cooperation between the two organisations through new projects.

On the other hand, the President of the Supreme Audit Institution of Poland, Marian Banaś, congratulated Mr. Osmani on the achievements of the National Audit Office in general, and on full rights membership in the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) in particular. Banaś said that they support NAO and expect to continue working on building good relations between the organisations, especially when it comes to the work related to Covid-19 audit process. He assessed that the cooperation between the two organisations serves to the improvement of quality in external audit.

Osmani and Banaś expressed their satisfaction that the National Audit Office of Poland and the National Audit Office of Kosovo have managed to successfully complete the EU-funded Twinning Project “Further strengthening of the impact of National Audit Office in Kosovo”. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic for more than a year, all activities were conducted online without causing any delays or missing any activity.

This meeting took place as part of the visit of the President of the Supreme Audit Institution of Poland, Marian Banaś, in Kosovo to participate in the closing conference of the Twinning Project.
