Pursuant to the cooperation agreement entered between the National Audit Office of Kosovo and the Supreme Audit Institution of Albania, two workshops on Audit Quality Assurance were held.  The workshops took place in Tirana and Prishtina.

Representatives of both audit institutions discussed on furthering the cooperation and exchanging knowledge and experiences on audit quality assurance.

In his opening remarks at the workshop held in Prishtina, the Auditor General, Mr. Besnik Osmani, expressed his condolences for the earthquake victims and sympathy for the situation created in Albania. He also commended the NAO staff’s self-initiative to donate blood, as a sign of solidarization with the victims, thus demonstrating their willingness to contribute to saving the lives of citizens.

Mr. Osmani discussed with the attendees for further extending the implementation of joint audits, especially those related to management of emergencies and constructions safety.

”Our teams in Prishtina and Tirana may together handle these two topics so that, in the future, we will be able to provide our Governments with information on findings and gaps as well as recommendations to improve them,” said Mr. Osmani.

They also discussed on the possibility of exchanging auditors between the two institutions on a long-term basis.
