The Auditor General visits the AAB College to strengthen interinstitutional cooperation

Monday, the Auditor General of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Osmani, paid a visit to the AAB College where he was received by the Rector, Bujar Demjaha, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Medain Hashani, and the Vice Dean Kosovare Ukshini. This meeting aimed at strengthening the cooperation between the National Audit Office and AAB College in auditing; exchanging professional and academic assistance; and engaging students in internships.

As part of this visit, the Auditor General, Besnik Osmani, had a conversation with students of the Faculty of Economics to whom he explained the role, mission, and operations of the National Audit Office as well as other details on the audit report preparation process.

Osmani said that NAO audits public funds to ensure the taxpayers that their money is used economically, the financial reporting is true, and that decisions are in compliance with legal requirements. The Auditor General also highlighted the importance of implementing NAO recommendations and their impact in strengthening good governance and accountability.

On the other hand, the students were interested to have more information on the way an audit is conducted, audit assurance, types of audits, accountability, and transparency in spending of public money.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at AAB College, Medain Hashani, extended his acknowledgment to the Auditor General for the visit, emphasising the importance of cooperation between these two institutions. Hashani said that NAO continues to be one of the most reliable institutions in Kosovo thanks to its professional, independent, and transparent work.
