Co-operation between Supreme Audit Institutions of Croatia and Kosovo Strengthened


Today, the Auditor General of Kosovo, Mr. Besnik Osmani, hosted the Auditor General of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Ivan Klešić and his associates. The central topic of this meeting was the stepping up of co-operation and mutual support in order to strengthen the external audit in both countries.

Mr. Osmani congratulated Mr. Klešić on his re-election in his second term by the Croatian Parliament and briefed the guests on the achievements, challenges and strategic objectives of the National Audit Office.

The Auditor General of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Ivan Klešić highly appreciated the work of the Kosovo National Audit Office and the progress achieved in external audit in Kosovo. He emphasised the need to intensify inter-institutional co-operation in order to exchange information and experience, to the interest of further enhancing external audit and improving public funds management.

The heads of both institutions have highlighted the benefits that can be achieved through a sustainable process of bilateral co-operation. In support of professional development, the two parties have agreed on a continuous, coherent and concrete co-operation to be carried out through the exchange of experts and the exchange of audit experience.

During the stay in Prishtina, the Croatian delegation will have meetings with MPs in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo as well as with senior government officials.
