Auditor General visits Non-Governmental Organisations and donates computer devices

Within the program to better understand the importance of audit and to raise awareness of the public, the National Audit Office has recently undertaken activities to distribute donations – computer devices in several Non-Governmental Organizations in need. The donation of these devices is a symbolic act of support and solidarity with the work and dedication of these organizations, and to improve their working condition.

On this occasion, the Auditor General, Mr. Besnik Osmani, informed those responsible in these organizations about the role and work of the National Audit Office, and was informed from up-close about their work and activities.

On behalf of the Association Down Syndrome Kosova, Ms. Sebahate Hajdini-Beqiri after expression the gratitude for this donation, informed on the establishment of this organisation with the initiative of parents. The mission of the Association is to enhance the dignity of individuals with Down syndrome and their relatives, by advocating and lobbying for rights and respect of these rights, in order to increase the quality of life and complete inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome in all parts of society. Therefore, she pointed out that such assistances are welcome and valuable in helping the Association develop its activities.

To acknowledge and express the gratitude for the contribution, NAO representatives were provided with symbolic handmade gifts, made by the children.

Upon distribution of devices for the non-profit association “HANDIKOS”, representatives of this association stated that “this donation is welcome and the devices will be used for development of their daily activities”. HANDIKOS aims to represent and support people with disabilities by advocating, lobbying and providing professional services in order to promote their well-being, and to achieve equal rights, an independent and dignified life for all.

Computer devices have also been donated to the Centre for Protection of Women and Children „Shtëpia Ime/My Home” in Ferizaj, to the Croatian community in Janjevo, and a part of these devices was also donated to the High School “Xhevdet Doda” in Prishtina. Donated devices are used, but IT experts of the National Audit Office have made them fully operational, by extending their lifespan to the optimum, thus they can meet the needs of these organizations.
